"Lee" Leland Frank Haase, 70, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Haase was born in Los Angeles and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for North American Aviation/Rockwell/Westinghouse in Southern California before moving to Yakima in 1978 when he was transferred to Hanford where he worked as a senior mechanical engineer. Mr. Haase retired in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Millie of Yakima; four children, Nancy Baisinger of Yakima, Janice Hamilton of Selah, Ronn Haase of Riverside, Calif., and Jeffery Hasse of Canoga Park, Calif.; a sister, Barbara Stark of Oakhurst, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
At his request, no formal funeral will be held. An open house celebrating his life will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the family home, 381 S. Kershaw Drive. Keith and Keith Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
